Main event:
Luke Riley vs Tariel Abbasov
The undefeated Luke Riley takes to the Cage Warriors stage for the final time against the highly dangerous Tariel Abbasov.
Riley has competed ten times under the Cage Warriors organisation, finishing seven of his ten opponents via TKO or knockout.
As for Abbasov, this will be his first fight on the Cage Warriors promotion, having previously fought on the Fight Nation Championship and the Open Fighting Championship. Abbasov boasts an impressive ten submission victories throughout his professional career, showcasing his grappling prowess.
This presents a challenging dilemma for Riley, who has yet to face any real out-and-out wrestlers and doesn’t have a submission victory on his resume. The Azerbaijani fighter is often methodical in his fights, waiting for the perfect opportunity to secure a takedown, something that Riley will have to be wary of.
Riley will be hoping a big win here will force him into contention for a UFC contract, something that has been discussed heavily in the past.
C0-Main Event:
Teddy Stringer vs Antonio Sheldon
The undefeated welterweight prospect Teddy Stringer looks to plant his authority firmly on the division with a victory over the experienced Antonio Sheldon.
Stringer fights out of Chesterfield, England, and has finished all four of his Cage Warriors fights; three by rear naked choke and one via a ground and pound TKO. All of his previous opponents were undefeated prior to him fighting them.
Standing across the Octagon will be a tough opponent in Sheldon, who has won his last two Cage Warriors fights against Michal Folc and Tom Mearns via a unanimous decision. However, he is prone to being taken down, which Stringer could capitalise on in this bout.
Stringer has been fighting as an amateur since 2018 and finally got the chance to turn professional in 2023 when Cage Warriors offered him a contract. As for Sheldon, he has been fighting in MMA since 2013 and made his professional debut in 2017 on the Aeron MMA promotion.
A win for Stringer could take him closer to the heights of the welterweight division, whereas for Sheldon it could signal the first time he has won three fights in a row since 2021.
