Legendary English kickboxer, Liam Harrison, is set to return to the ONE Championship promotion on August 2 against Soe Lin Oo in Denver, Colorado.
Harrison returned to the Octagon in August 2024 after almost two years out through a knee injury. He was defeated in his return by Seksan Or Kwanmuang, and left his gloves in the Octagon, suggesting that he would be retiring.
ONE Championship super fan, Connor MacDougall, spoke about his excitement when hearing this news:
“The Hitman is one of the most legendary fighters to compete under the ONE promotion, and I can’t wait to see him back in action.
Truthfully, I didn’t think we would see him fight again after his devastating injury and his last loss, but I’m delighted that he has changed his mind.”
His opponent has suffered three consecutive losses via unanimous decision; most recently against Dmitrii Kovtun on March 8 2025, and will be hoping to turn his fortunes around against Harrison.
MacDougall shares some insight into Oo’s character:
“He is nicknamed ‘man of steel’ as he used to compete in Lethwei, a form of martial arts where fighters can use kicks, punches, elbows and even headbutts.
It is a brutal sport and has set Oo up form a great career in more traditional forms of MMA.”
Harrison has had 120 fights in kickboxing, winning 92 of them, which has enabled him to be effective in the MMA welterweight divisions.
He will be hoping that August 2 won’t be his final time in the octagon.
